Location: San Francisco, CA
Scope: 90,000 SF
Position: Interior Designer
Rapidly expanding delivery service, DoorDash, needed a new space to not only house their quickly expanding workforce but to reflect their aspirations as a modern, future thinking brand. Working closely with their internal branding team we created a sophisticated and fun space that is equal parts youthful and approachable as it is functional and efficient, much like the brand itself.
Of particular note is the Level 08 dining room. DoorDash uses their own service to deliver lunch and dinner from the community to feed their employees every day. So, instead of a traditional cafeteria that would necessitate an ample kitchen to support their food operation, we have a small staging area where food can be delivered, unpacked and moved to the dining room for distribution. With new legislation being debated in San Francisco regarding cafeterias in workspaces we believe this approach to be a model for the future of food service in commercial workplace environments.
Each level in the office offers a slightly different design style not only as a way finding device but as a way to keep the user interested and guessing as they move from space to space and floor to floor. The range of styles can be seen below in this sampling of furniture that was selected. While each grouping has its own flavor, cohesion was found through consistent geometry and massing of the furniture itself.
